Wednesday Morning Bible Study

The Wednesday Morning Bible Study will start up September 3 in room 24 at 10:30 a.m. We are in the process of studying the Book of Acts. Tapes from Pastor Chuck Smith are being used. He is a minister at Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, California. His study is called The Word For Today. We are studying Acts verse by verse. We have studied up to Chapter Four and will continue from there. Our study is open to anyone who can attend. It is an in-depth study, which tries to teach the Word from a complete method. We want to stick strictly to what the Scriptures teach.

Andy’s Perkin’s Bible Study

The primary purpose for this group is teaching and fellowship. We meet on Tuesday evenings at Perkins (University and Forsyth) at 6pm if anyone wants to come for dinner. The study starts at 7pm… concluding around 8pm. We study in a variety of different formats… talking our way through books or addressing different topics. We are currently looking at the uniqueness of Jesus in the midst of other world religions. All are welcome, in this highly relational setting, no question is too dumb!

Dexter’s Saturday Nite Bible Study

We have a Bible Study that meets every other Saturday night in group member’s homes. Sometimes we have dinner together first and sometimes not, but always Bible study. We are currently going through Paul’s letters to the various churches. This is an open group and anyone interested in Bible study is welcome. The time changes depending on whether or not we are eating dinner together on a given night.

Senior Adult Tuesday Morning Bible Study

This Tuesday morning Bible study is following a series of studies from Autumn Saints. Two units have been completed and the next one “To Die Is Gain” will begin on September 9th at 10:00 am in room 25. The main thrust of this study is to help participants learn how to grow so close in their relationship with Christ that death will be a welcomed guest when the time comes.

Saturday Men’s Prayer Group

We are the remnant of a very long-standing Men's Prayer Group who meet in the Library each Saturday at 7:30. We are pleased that there are many other opportunities for men to pray together at Aloma. We are 6 to 8 older men who have met together for years and find the Saturday morning time still fits our needs. We welcome any and all men who would like to join us. We share a ten-minute meditation and pray together for a half hour or so. We are serious about intercessory prayer and pray for our church and community. We share our prayers and our lives and believe what we find together would be great for men who would like to carry on.

We do not presently do "breakfast" which used to be coffee and doughnuts; some of the men do go to breakfast after our time together. We are certain that God has used this experience to strengthen our faith and commitment. Come join us and we are sure you will be blessed as we have been.
